A self-fulfilling prophecy is a prediction that directly or indirectly causes itself to become true, by the very terms of the prophecy itself"

I have every single friend of mine telling me that we won't be friend's when I get married. That I will ignore them and not want to be around them. That it's "inevitable."
At first, I was offended by this. Excuse me? Thanks! Glad to see that you have so much faith in my friendship to you.
In the end, it's my closest single friends that will be turning their backs on ME, with some weird notion that I don't want anything to do with them.

Basic sociology.

  1. We'll still be friends... that's inevitable. :o)
PS You are right, if you say something is going to happen, you yourself are probably going to be the cause of it happening i.e. "we won't be friends anymore once you are married" - bologna unless you really believe that, then it'll happen.

  2. Carrie Lynn if you ever become one of those awkward married people, so help me, I'll kick you till you're dead. I have every intention in the world of witnessing you defy that prophecy. I for one will have absolutely nothing to do with fulfilling it.
