I think it's pretty important to make your house feel homey.

Okay, no joke, as I put the period on that last sentence I screamed because there was GIANT spider crawling across my carpet that I had to kill with a shoe. I suddenly feel extremely hypocritical. Let's try that again...

I think it's pretty important to try and make your house feel homey. Say I'm from Stepford, but I like decorating and cooking and cleaning (except the bathtub). I feel like I did a lot of housewifey things today.

I decorated my house for fall:

I made this frame for my friend's baby shower:

I made cards in honor of World Card Making Day:

I went to Deseret Book and got this free thing:

Does anyone else have the same loathing and hatred I have for the papyrus font? I mean really. It's awful.

But to make up for the hideous plaque that I'm going to paint over, I won a $10 gift certificate to Great Harvest!

...which would be AWESOME if it didn't expire on October 31st and if I didn't LOVE their breakfast buns (eggs + cheese + bacon wrapped in yummy bread = opposite of vegan). I'm going to go in and ask if they could change the date to November 1st pretty pretty please with dairy on top?

Meanwhile, to satisfy my bread cravings I made THESE:

No animal products and they are soooo goood!

And that was my day.

In other news, I've never gotten a blog award in my blogging life. I don't really understand them. I guess it just means someone likes my blog? And I guess I pass them on to say I like your blog? Sounds like love, so I'll participate :) This week, I somehow got two:

I got the above One Lovely Blog Award from Amber who is one of my dear and closest friends.
Here are the rules of the Lovely Blog Award:

1. Accept the award and post it on your blog with the name of the person who has granted the award and his/her blog link.
2. Pay it forward to 10 other bloggers that you have
recently discovered.
3. Contact those blog owners and let them know they have been chosen.

I'm gonna focus on the "recently discovered" part of this and nominate the following:

1. Alyssa at The Happy Pear
2. Courtney at You Will, Won't You?
3. Amy at Amyshmamey
4. Danielle at Biscuit
5. Suzy at It Walked On My Pillow
6: Melish at Seeking Happiness

7: Jamie at We're All M.A.D. Here
8: Jenn at Jennifer Writes...
9: Lissa at Me & Mr. C.
10: Paige at Prone to Wander

I was really flattered to have received this award from the talented Courtney. I feel like Courtney is about 1000X cooler than I am, so I was surprised to see myself on her list, but I feel especially hip right now.
Thanks Courtney!

Rules:

1. Save the image above and post it to your own blog
2. Pass the award on to 12 fellow bloggers
3. Link the nominees
4. Let nominees know they have won this award by commenting on their blog
5. Share the love and link to the person you received this award from.
