This is a post about the Madison Library Summer Reading Program.
I just signed up and I am so stinking excited. They are doing a "trek through the rocky mountains" theme, which means you have to "hike" 3000 miles. Every page you read between June 14th and July 31st counts as one mile, but you can get additional miles by doing summer-y activities like "cook something on a stick" (100 miles). You get a bookmark and a bag of swedish fish when you sign up, so I say it's worth it. If you finish the program, you are entered into several drawings for prizes, are invited to a chili feed, and get a LIBRARY GOLD CARD which means you don't have any late fees for a YEAR!

Awesome, no?

  2. How have I not known about this until right now!? I'm doing it! I was thinking about going to the library tomorrow, but now that I know about this, I'm in there like Flynn's hair. (had to make it rhyme...)

I like to hear all of the beautiful things you have to say.
