I love lavender. I have an entire pinterest board dedicated to it's awesomeness. I love the smell, I love the taste, I love the endless things you can do with it. So when I found out that Young Living Farms was reinstating their Lavender Festival- there was no way I was going to miss it.
It was probably the most random festival ever, but perfect overcast warm weather so what more could we ask for?
First of all, there were water zorbs.
You read that right.
Zorbs.
It was too funny to pass up so we waited in the long line. I feel like this is something I should put on my bucket list just to cross off.
There was also a western town and a renaissance town. Apparently someone couldn't decide between the continents or centuries. If the two themed activities weren't random enough- they were all part of the LAVENDER festival which made me scratch my head and laugh.
There was also a pow-wow around tee-pees.

Of course, lavender picking must share the spotlight with LAVENDER CRAFTING
Yup. I sat for an hour and half under that booth listening to live blue grass while Scott took Georgia to see a staged shoot out in the western town. I made this baby:
I'm pretty in love with her. She is currently on my front door (although probably not for long because once she dries the buds will fall off with every open and close).
All in all a pretty successful Saturday :)
(my camera was dead, so half of these are Ipod photos, and the good ones were graciously taken by Anna)
I love that wreath! Like, a lot. Have you ever seen any good-looking fake lavender, like in a craft store? This probably sounds like heresy to you, but I don't love the smell as much as the look. I wish I had known about the lavender festival; it sounds cool! I just got some lavender essential oil, and used it to massage my husband's stiff neck. His 2-day tension headache cleared up in 15 minutes!
ReplyDeleteYep. Had no idea that photo was taken of me! haha- looks like I'm just leaving June standing there.
ReplyDeleteAlso, your wreath is amaze-balls. Heard that term once. Felt it was appropriate here.
This sounds like the most awesome festival EVER! Lavender, tee pees, jousting, ZORBS...could you find a more perfect festival? I submit that you cannot.
ReplyDeleteabsolutely love the scent of lavender - so awesome there is a whole festival dedicated to it!
ReplyDeletealso, such a beautiful baby! those photos are precious
