The Red Barn and Tales

Sunday, February 6, 2011

On Saturday (which has officially become mine and Scott's "date day" since we don't see each other during the week), we decided to explore this new state we're in and drove down to Santaquin, UT where I was told there was a red barn with apples and good ice cream. We picked up our fellow adventurers Anna and Buck on the way down, and let me tell you- Santaquin did not disappoint.

(P.S. That's the "Nappy Bag" by Amy Butler. Yup. I made that)

After we stuffed our faces with apples and ice cream and squeaky cheese, we drove around the abandoned little town that I'm SURE is adorable in the spring. Or summer. And on our drive we found these:

Which meant, of course, that we had to risk breaking some unknown law, drive up the mountain, take a little hike and explore what we declared were old mines.

That's pregnant Anna being cold and trying not to fall, and up above is pregnant me being cold and trying not to fall.

All in all, a successful Saturday with our friends who we wish lived closer.

Oh yeah, and Anna and I were pretty proud of ourselves for not passing out seeing as we are not only struggling to breathe because our lungs are being smashed by our organs, but also because we are both incredibly out of shape.

Yes, I'm farther along than Anna.

    2. Why does Scott always look like a movie star in pictures?

    3. I've been craving ice cream for a solid three days, and despite two trips to the grocery store, keep forgetting to buy some. This did not help.

    4. I adore you.

  5. Kathleen: I secretly knew it was you, but was creeped out anyway. And I would give anything to be a pregnant buddy with you.
