Carrie Carrie Quite Contrary...

Scott and I are so desperate to be grown-up's that we planted a garden. Sort of. We live in a downstairs apartment where there is no porch, and no balcony, but instead a big slab of cement that forms a wall by our door. We lovingly call this our "patio" by making the quote gesture with our fingers whenever we mention it.
Because the weather has been so great, we went and bought a few plants and seeds. Scott got a banana pepper plant and some squash plant. We'll see how well THOSE do. I don't think there will be enough room for the squash, but Scott insisted, and who am I to argue? My thumb is any color but green. We also got a tomato plant, and I just learned yesterday that it needs a planter about 20 times the size of the one I have. Apparently those need a lot of dirt.
Probably should have researched this before getting so excited...
As for me, I had a few wildflower seeds that I planted and hopefully they will sprout. You never know with those packets...
A lady that I visit teach** has a beautiful garden and a couple of over grown house plants. She gave me some twigs and instructed me to plop them in the dirt and insisted they will take root and grow. I'm nervous, but luckily she lives close by if I have any questions.
I'm grumbling around the house because I can't find my cord to hook up my camera to my computer... I have some pictures but won't be able to post them right now. Grrr... I'll let you know when they come up.

**For those of you unfamiliar with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints: I belong to an organization called Relief Society which is the oldest and largest women's organization in the world. To make sure every woman has what she needs, each Relief Society member is assigned a visiting teaching companion. You and your companion are then assigned several sisters to go visit once a month to chat with and share a spiritual message. It's a great way to get to know your neighbors and feel uplifted. The women I visit teach are all quite a bit older than me, so it's fun to get their advice... like on gardening ;)
