I've been away in a nest.

Okay, so it's been awhile. But this time it's not because I'm stressed beyond stressed- it mostly has to do with finishing up my internship (how do you 40 hour/week people have the capacity to blog everyday?), and nesting. If you don't like to hear about baby stuff, you should probably go elsewhere for awhile. I've tried not to overwhelm my blog with boring pregnancy symptoms and get-ready-for-baby posts, but I'm afraid I can't help it anymore. Our little girl is due in 29 days and that's all I want to think about and talk about I'm afraid.

But honestly- can you blame me?

I'm huge! Nothing like a GIGANTIC reminder to cause fatigue and remind you that you are, indeed, going to have a child soon.

AAAANYways...

Whenever I think of nesting, I think of this:

Vanessa Loring: "What to Expect say that readying the baby's room is an important process for the woman, especially if you're adopting. It's called 'nesting.'"
Mark Loring:
"Nesting?"
Vanessa Loring: "Yeah."
Mark Loring: "Well, are you gonna build a crib out of sticks and spit?"
(Can anyone else watch that movie over and over again? I love it- Scott hates it)

Anyway, I'm in the process of putting together baby's room, and I thought I would show you some of the progress I've made. It's not done yet, but I've been so darn crafty lately I thought it's worth a post ;)

Above, I made the decorative burp cloths (because hey! why not?!), the picture frame, the green minky pillow, and that rockin car seat cover.

There will be more added and taken away as I get things figured out (*cough*money*cough), but so far I've been able to allow my nesting instinct to stay on a budget. But I really want to redo the rocking chair in a different color and maybe grab a rug.

I also have a changing table, but it doesn't have a pad yet and I'm still trying to decide how to decorate that wall...

Anyway, hope your summer has been as graciously cool as mine! Some people complain that the weather here is too cold, but with this little incubator baby, it's just right for me!

  2. Yay yay yay! Lil Georgia is gonna be one of the luckiest newborns in the world, because A) her room rocks and B) you're her mom.

Also, I think "nesting" is mildly contagious. With all the nesting mamas around me, I've started buying way more children's books than usual every time I go to DI.

I like to hear all of the beautiful things you have to say.
